On Tuesday I was fortunate enough to attend a stylising workshop with Tahn Scoon Stylist, hosted by Donna from Hamptons Style shop in Sanctuary Cove. The theme of the mini-workshop was how to style your home for a magazine shoot.
About 40 women filled Hampton Style’s gorgeous shop to hear what Tahn had to say.
Donna was the perfect hostess providing glasses of bubbles and morning tea for all the guests.
Tahn talked about what she does when she goes to a house to photograph it for a magazine and then gave us some tips on what we can do to help keep our real world busy and often messy houses the magazine treatment.
After the mini-workshop, Tahn signed copies of her latest book New Vintage, The Handmade Home – Second Edition. A beautifully illustrated book packed full of inspiring ideas, practical decorating advice and step by step projects. This is the hip girl’s guide to decorating and covers everything you need to know to create eclectic, daring interiors. Topics include: how to choose the right white for your walls, make an upholstered linen bed head, re-vamp an old kitchen chair and how to successfully introduce vintage pieces into your home.
New Vintage (New Holland Publishers) is available from Hamptons Style, or you local book retailer.
