On Tuesday, I was lucky enough to attend The Brown Trading Company’s table styling workshop. Held at their shop in Salisbury, Brisbane, the workshop was a lovely morning learning tips and techniques to create different styles of table settings for the summer.
Here, Keren Brown, the owner of The Brown Trading Company is getting hands on with a tropical inspired pineapple themed table setting.
The pink tropical parrot added some fun to the table setting, along with pineapple tablecloth, napkins, and clay tags all available from The Brown Trading Company.
In this nautical inspired lobster theme, a giant ceramic clam shell bowl makes the perfect way to serve either salad or a big bowl of fresh prawns. Scallop shells were used as individual sauce or condiment dishes, and anchor napkins had nautical rope napkin rings.
The final setting was a classic Christmas setting in silver and white with a touch of blue. Pine cones were collected and sprayed with silver spray paint – a quick and easy DIY table decoration. Napkins were adorned with silver glass baubles. (I might have bought just a few of these for myself!)
We were spoilt with a lovely morning tea of freshly baked cupcakes, made by Keren herself. The workshop was meant to be run by the fabulous Sharnel, from Sharnel Dollar Designs (you know the one who was on Oprah), but she was sick and Keren did a marvellous job filling in.
