A little while ago we featured a beautiful kitchen and dining banquette on DIY Decorator that belonged to Nicole – you can read it about it here. Today we are back at Nicole’s to show you her pretty sitting room and formal dining area. It’s a beautiful room in soothing neutrals with just a pop of pink.
This sitting and dining room is part of the open plan section at the back of the house and adjoins the kitchen area and dining nook. Large sliding doors lead out to the back deck and pool. At the other end of the room a grand staircase leads to upstairs.
The room has a neutral colour scheme of grey and taupe with pops of pink accents with the Laura Ashley throw and lampshade. Nicole has collected the pieces of furniture and decor gradually over time including the ornate dining table that she had custom made. She was after a tray for the coffee table, and looked everywhere for a white tray with a washed timber inlay. She couldn’t believe her luck when she stumbled across exactly what she was after at a Overflow of all places, but the way she has used it in the room you would never know.
