Decorating with lanterns are a great way to welcome the warmer months and get ready for some outdoor entertaining.  They can add a bit of warmth to an outdoor space with ambient lighting by night.  Today we have some tips on decorating with outdoor lanterns and where to find them.

Lanterns make a great center piece for an outdoor table.  Use them in pairs on your outdoor table for mood lighting in the evening or group them in three’s and vary the heights of the lanterns.  This is a simple but elegant look.

Fill your lanterns with decorative objects to personalise your outdoor area such as battery operated outdoor LED fairy lights or add shells, sand, coral and a starfish for a coastal style lantern.

As an alternative for safety you may try using a flame less candle in your lantern.  You can find flame less candles at Pottery Barn in many different shapes and sizes.
