From the time my son was only a toddler, I chose navy blue for his bedroom decor. There’s just something about navy blue that seems to work so well in boys bedrooms, from toddlers right through to teenagers.

It slows human metabolism and produces a calming effect. Blue is strongly associated with tranquility and calmness.

Use navy and white as the base colour for your decorating scheme on large areas such as the walls, bed linen and furniture. Both red and lime green are great accent colours that you can use with a navy blue boys bedroom. Use these colours on bed linen, cushions, rugs, artwork and lampshades.
