Do you struggle to find good quality custom made blinds for your home at an affordable price? I know I have, but I have found a great source of custom made blinds made right here in Australia, that may just be what you’ve been looking for.
Problem – No privacy and heat loss in winter
Here was my problem. Now that winter is here there is so much heat loss through this large window/back door. I also had to match the new blind to an existing blind in the kitchen.
Challenge: Finding affordable custom made blinds
Why most ready made blinds wouldn’t work:
- I wanted to match the same fabric to blinds that are already in the home.
- I wanted the blind to fit perfectly over the window/doorway and not overlap and look out of place.
- I had a budget to stick to and I didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on blinds.
Solution: DIY Blinds
After an extensive search I came across DIY Online Blinds who offer custom made roller blinds and roman blinds with a large range of fabrics to choose from at a reasonable price. This ticked all the boxes.
Step 1.
Choose your blind type, I was just after a simple block out roller blind for my window.
Step 2
Choose your fabric type
Step 3
Measure your blind
Decide whether your blind will be a face fit or a recess fit and measure accordingly. The DIY Blind website is very simple to follow. DIY Online Blinds have a simple measurement guide to follow.
Step 4
Customisation and Options
Step 5
Ordering & Delivery
After you have selected each customisation option for your blind, such as which side you want the cord on and what direction you want your blind to go.
Your blind will take 10 to 15 days to be delivered, once I had placed my order my blind arrived within a week. Delivered directly to my home ready to install.
Step 6
Blind Installation Tips
Installing the blind was so easy. Because of the width of the blind it was easier to have two people install it. We held the bracket in place and marked the spots where the screws will go with a marker.
Then we were able to pre-drill a small hole. We then attached the bracket to the architrave, using a cordless drill to screw into place with screws. The blind was delivered with all the pieces it required for an easy installation.
Result – Affordable custom made Blind
I was really happy with the block out blind fabric that I chose, the colour is white focus. The walls in this home are painted in Dulux Vivid White and this blind blends in perfectly as well as keeping the room warm in winter.
If you’re on the hunt for some new blinds, I can highly recommend DIY Online Blinds.
