  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Pencil for tracing pattern

Apple Template

Copy template image and print out.  My apple measures 13cm across.  I bought my felt balls from Felt Ball Rugs Australia, all the other items are available at your local craft store.

Step 1

Print out your apple template. Place the template on the corkboard, trace around the apple and cut out the apple shape with scissors or a stanley knife.

You can either keep the leaf attached and cut out together with the apple or, cut the leaf out separately.  Place the leaf on the felt or a piece of fabric and trace and cut out.

Step 2

Measure the centre of your apple with a ruler, mark the middle spot.

Step 3

Place some glue on the spot you have marked and this is where you will place your first felt ball.

Step 4

Continue each circle of felt balls around the middle felt ball.  Glue around the circle first and then position the felt balls in place.  Continue to work your way outwards until you have completely covered the cork.

Leave to dry.  Attach the fabric or felt leaf to the apple stem and glue in place.

Felt ball coastersOnce you get started this is a quick and easy project you can try at home.  As an alternative to felt balls you could try small pom poms.
