Artwork is such an important part of your room. Together with rugs, cushions and decor, artwork adds colour and pattern to your room and creates that finishing touch. I have just discovered a range of canvas artwork from Final Touch Decor that I want to share with you.
This is my downstairs living area and featured on the wall is Boats on Beach canvas artwork. I chose the 120 x 80cm size so the artwork would really be a feature on the wall.
I loved the artwork in this room so much, that it lead to a complete overhaul of the room. I’m talking removing old wallpaper, painting walls, and moving everything around. I’ll share details on the makeover soon.
You all know I’m a fan of blue and white colour schemes. While upstairs features blue and white china and a chinoiserie feel, I really wanted a more relaxed and casual coastal inspired theme downstairs. I think that the Boats on the Beach really helps to create that look.
My son asked me what do the boats mean? That’s the great thing about artwork, it’s open to interpretation. Are the boats coming in from a storm or are they waiting to go out fishing?
What I love about this canvas was the range of blues from light to deep and moody. It was the deep blue in the top left corner of the canvas that led me to paint the deep blue wall behind the tv. The wall colour and the artwork work so well together in the room.
Whilst I like canvas artwork, I’m not a big fan of unframed canvases where you can see the edges. The canvas prints from Final Touch Decor come with a floating frame in a choice of white, black or wood grain. I chose the white frame for the boats on beach canvas. The frame adds visual dimension to the canvas and really finishes it off.
The other great thing about the 120 x 80cm size canvas is that it’s the perfect size to hang above a sofa. So if I move the furniture around in the room, I know it will work above the sofa.
Final Touch Decor is an Australian based company that has a range of canvas prints. You choose the canvas design, the size and the frame you want. Your canvas is then printed, framed and shipped to your door (worldwide) ready to hang.
Canvas Hanging Tip
I used 2 picture hooks spaced 40cm apart and hung the canvas so the top of the frame was 182cm or 6 feet from the floor.
As well as coastal designs, there are florals, fashion, animals and a gorgeous range of ballet images that my daughter has her eye on. They also offer a custom service if you are after a particular print or size.
