In the past year both my neighbours have painted their houses grey and white, and yesterday when I walked around my neighbourhood I noticed just how many grey and white houses there are now. Grey house paint colours are calm and classic. Here’s a look at some popular colours.
Dulux have a wide selection of grey tones to choose from. This brick terrace house is painted in Domino with white Lexicon Half to provide a crisp contrast. The weatherboard Queenslander is painted in soft Miller Mood, and again paired with Lexicon Half.
Haymes are a specialist in heritage paint colours. Here they have paired the ever popular Woodland Grey colourbond shade with Balance and Marble Mist. The bottom house features Koala Grey and Fossil.
This Brisbane Queenslander by Cunningham Designs is painted in Resene Stack with Dulux Lexicon trim. The brick terrace is painted in Wattyl Paints Winter Mushroom, Sheer Granite, and Manhattan Snow. Grey and white paint inspiration from a Brisbane colonial house from Applied & Decorative Painting, with the white trim really offsetting the grey weatherboards. This single story terrace house is in Berger Paints Stone Chapel and Cabinet Grey.
Finally, here is the paint colour scheme used by talented blogger Katrina, from Katrina Lee Chambers blog. Katrina has used Colourbond Shale Grey in a Taubmans paint combined with a colour bond Surf Mist roof. Her white trim is just plain white paint with no tint. If you need your paint to have a name use Dulux Vivid White as that is really white with no tint.
