Spray paint has got to be a DIY’ers best friend. With just a simple spray of a can you can completely transform an object. I bought an inexpensive white tray from Kmart, and with some brilliant shine gold paint, transformed it into a beautiful DIY gold tray. See how easy it was.
What You Need:
White tray – mine was $8 from KMart
White Knight Super Gold spray paint – approx $21 from Bunnings
Instructions:
Step 1 – Lightly sand the tray all over so the paint will adhere.
Step 2: Set up your spraying area in a well ventilated area (preferably outside). I like to prop up what I’m spraying so I can get to the bottom edge, and I lay a drop sheet down so I don’t upset my husband with gold grass.
Step 3: Lightly spray the tray all over with a sweeping motion, then allow it to dry. The White Knight paint is touch dry in 10 minutes, and you can re-coat between 1 – 2 hours after the first coat. My tray only needed one coat.
It’s that simple and you’ve totally transformed the tray.

i love the opulent look!
Great idea, looks fantastic.
Thanks Sue. I've still got some paint left, so I think I'll try another gold project.
